Johan graduated Stellenbosch University in 2000. He then worked in England for 8 years, providing a mixed private and National Health service. In this time, he completed a 3 year diploma at Bristol University Open Learning in Dentistry in Sedation in Dentistry, Oral Surgery and Business Management. In 2009, he and his family moved to NZ, and they loved it so much that they now call Whangarei home. He has subsequently completed and excelled in a post-graduate diploma in Orthodontics in General Practice. He continues to practice all forms of general dentistry, and has a keen focus on keeping patients comfortable, relaxed, calm, informed and in control of their experience in the dental chair.
Arnon graduated from Otago University with Bachelor of Dental Surgery 2016, endorsed with Credit and the NZ Royal Dental Corporations prize for excellence in Oral Surgery. Arnon grew up here in Whangarei, and has recently moved back home to join us as a Director. He is passionate about providing the highest level of care for all his patients. He maintains a healthy work life balance, and when he’s not working, you can find him diving, fishing, and getting amongst the outdoors. Member of the New Zealand Dental Association.
Mingkai graduated from the University of Otago in 2022 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Bachelor of Science. Since then, he has been dedicated to providing dental care for the people of Whangarei. With his gentle and calm nature, Mingkai strives to provide comfortable dental care even for the most anxious patient. He is a firm believer in lifelong learning, and regularly attends courses to develop his skills and knowledge. Outside of work, you can find Mingkai enjoying a game of basketball or looking after his indoor plant collection.
Originally from Malaysia, Viv made the exciting move to New Zealand in 2022 to pursue her career as a dentist. After earning her degree from Otago University, she relocated to Whangarei and is now thrilled to be serving the community. 🦷 When she’s not practicing dentistry, Viv loves to get creative in the kitchen, whipping up delicious dishes and sharing her culinary creations online. She also cherishes quality time spent with family and friends and enjoys exploring the beauty of the great outdoors.
Julie has been a hygienist in Whangarei for more than twenty five years. She enjoys meeting people and helping patients to achieve and maintain good oral health.
Sarah trained with Auckland University of Technology, graduating with a Bachelor of Health Science in Oral Health. She has a wealth of experience in dentistry. Sarah first trained as a dental assistant in Auckland and has worked in the general and specialist dentistry fields in both New Zealand and the UK. Sarah enjoys the day to day highlights and challenges of working as an oral health therapist and enjoys keeping up to date with the latest developments. She is passionate about providing gentle and effective treatment tailored to her patient’s needs. Sarah looks forward to working with her patients to help them achieve their oral health goals. In her free time, you find Sarah spending time with her young family, at the beach or reading a good book.
Meet Maggie – Oral Health Therapist Maggie, our skilled Oral Health Therapist, graduated from Auckland University of Technology and brings over 8 years of experience in the dental industry, starting with a background in dental assisting. She is passionate about delivering an excellent standard of care while working as part of a collaborative team. A highlight of Maggie’s role is building meaningful relationships with her patients, making them feel comfortable and relaxed in the chair. She is dedicated to empowering patients with easy-to-understand information about their oral health and creating effective, individualized homecare routines that are achievable for each person. Outside of work, Maggie enjoys cycling around Whangarei, exploring Northland's many cafes and markets, and unwinding at the beach.
Chelsea is a passionate and dedicated Oral Health Therapist, having graduated from Auckland University of Technology. She is committed to helping her patients maintain healthy smiles through preventative care and education. Chelsea works hard to create a friendly, stress-free environment where patients can feel comfortable while receiving personalized, high-quality treatment. In her spare time, Chelsea loves spending time outdoors, enjoying walks, hikes, and beach days. She also has a deep love for traveling and exploring new places!
